Bill Woodson is a Managing Director at Citi Private Bank, responsible for its North America Family Office Group.
Bill joined Citi from Credit Suisse where he was a Managing Director and Head of their Ultra High Net Worth and Family Office Business (1/2007 – 5/2014). A tax professional by training, Bill began his career as a CPA at Arthur Andersen, where he spent a decade providing domestic and international tax advice to wealthy executives, families and business owners (6/1989 – 12/1998). Bill left Andersen to run the family office for one of his largest clients; a Hong Kong based family with 40 employees and operations in Hong Kong, San Francisco and Vancouver (1/1998 – 6/1999).
Bill was a founding member and Managing Director with myCFO (6/1999 – 11/2001), an integrated wealth management and technology firm. At myCFO, Bill ran one of the firm’s largest multi-family, family office practices and served as the CFO for myCFO Securities, LLC. Shortly before the sale of myCFO to Harris Bank, Bill joined Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group in November 2001 and oversaw an integrated investment advisory practice for ultra-high net worth families ranging in net worth from $25 million to $2 billion.
Bill has a master’s degree in accounting from New York University’s Stern Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Irvine.
